The Raindance Film Festival is celebrating its 16th anniversary in 2008, and once again they’re guaranteeing a stellar lineup of the best in independent cinema. If you’re a fan of indie films and all that’s cutting edge, don’t miss a moment of the truly fantastic festival.
Films at RaindanceThe Raindance Film Festival showcases all that’s great in independent filmmaking, from the no budget movies to the quirky pictures that attract the stars. The festival also highlights films from up and coming directors, writers and actors, so it’s the place to be if you’re in the mood for the newest flicks that London has to offer.
Raindance coursesSadly they’re not courses on how to do an actual rain dance, but the company does sponsor many courses on how to become a top notch independent filmmaker. They’ll give you the inside scoop on how to make connections and create the best film possible. Thousands of people have attended their courses and have used their talents to become film writers, producers and directors.
British Independent Film AwardsRaindance also hosts the British Independent Film Awards, where honours are given to the year’s best offerings of independent film and cinema. Don’t miss out on this year’s awards and see if your favourite indie film gets its deserved congratulations.
Opening and Closing Night GalasThe opening night gala will screen Choke, the film adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's book sees sex addict and con artist Victor Mancici play on the emotions of various women. The closing night gala will show Hush, a thriller from Mark Tonderai, the film promises to take the audience on a very scary ride indeed. To book tickets for either of these, call 0207 287 3833.
